It Tag

[ Objective | Re-Cap]

OBJECTIVE:
May's GASP Open will feature a game of "It" tag. The event will be held at the Federated Arena. Each participant will have $10,000 to design a vehicle. The game will start with a random person being chosen as "It". Only the person who is "It" may fire direct fire weapons (Dropped weapons by other combatants are not limited). The car that is "It" has 5 turns to tag someone else with a direct fire weapon. After that, they lose 3 points. Each person will start with +6 points. 2 points will be lost for being tagged "It" (the car chosen to be "It" randomly at the start of a game is not penalized). 1 point is gained for tagging someone else. Normal points are applied for kills and losses (5 points for full kill, -2 for having car killed). If a participant goes to 0 points or less, they are disqualified. Tag backs are not allowed for 5 full phases after a person is tagged. The game will last until there is only one vehicle left or 25 turns have passed.

RE-CAP:

We had a great turnout for the June Car Wars event. 8 players and 1 GM... veterans and newbies alike gathered around the table to duke it out in a vicious game of It Tag. We found some toy wooden building blocks that made for an excellent arena (the Federated Arena was destroyed in a great flood), and with Micro-Machines at the ready, we had at it. The game moved relatively quickly, and everyone seemed to have a pretty good time, but unfortunately, the scenario was a bit flawed. Having the car that is "It" be the only one allowed to fire made things a bit dull for the other participants. We may also have made the arena a bit too large, condemning the "It" car to a lengthy reign.

In the end, Curt Collins came out as the winner of the event. But, we have not yet started keeping a running tally of point totals. Perhaps I may start at the July game day. Depends on my mood :)
