GASP Silent Auction
It’s time for the annual GASP Silent Auction!

Each year we have used this event to raise some funds for our annual convention, GASPcon, and to help you clear out some of that gaming clutter. We appreciate your support immensely and thank all those who have donated and purchased items in the past. We are planning another GASP Silent Auction season.

What is the GASP Silent Auction? Basically you (our GASP members) dig deep into your closets and shelves to find those games and gaming related items you no longer want, and donate them to GASP. We then, over the next several months, set them out at Games Day with bid sheets. If you see something you like, you write down your name and how much you are willing to pay for the item (your bid). Someone else may come along during the day and out-bid you. If you still want the item, then can come back and raise your bid. Around 8:00 PM we will make an announcement for final bids and then declare the day’s auction winners. At that time you pay us your winning bid and claim your item (see the detailed rules at the end of this post).

Starting with the July’s Games Day we will be accepting donations and setting up the GASP Silent Auction. The auction will run each month at Games Day. We will accept donations through September and the final GASP Silent Auction will be at October’s Games Day.

This year you have two options for you donations:

• 100% donation: This is a full donation to the club, we set the initial bid amount, and 100% of the funds raised supports GASPcon. After the final GASP Silent Auction in October, any unsold items will be sold in a first come, first serve $1 sale. If no one still wants the item you will have the option of taking it back or we will dispose of it as we see fit.

• 50% donation: This option lets you get a little cash back for your donation. When your item sells you will receive 50% of the money raised, rounded down to the nearest dollar. After the final GASP Silent Auction in October, we will calculate your total sales and give you your portion. The remainder goes to support GASPcon. If you choose this option you will need to register the item with the auction organizer (The Bard, Dan Cetorelli) and submit a bid slip for each item (with your name, e-mail, and initial bid amount). If your item does not sell by the end of the GASP Silent Auction season (in October), it will be returned to you.

GASP Silent Auction Rules
Donations will be accepted at each Games Day through September. If your donation is received between 12 noon and 1PM, it will be included in that month’s Games Day.

The auctions will run through October’s Games Day.

All payment must be made in cash.

We prefer payment the day you win the auction but will give a one (1) month grace period if necessary (except in October when payment must be made on the day you win the auction).

If you win the auction and are not in attendance when the auction closes, you have until the next Games Day to claim and pay for your merchandise.

Any merchandise not claimed within one (1) month will be given to the next higher bidder or placed back up for auction.

Buyer beware! We make no guarantees as to the completeness or condition of the items being auctioned.

Any items not sold will be carried over to the next month’s auction.

Any items not sold by October will be offered back to their owners or go into our everything must go for a dollar sale at October’s Games Day.

If you are the first bidder on an item you must bid at least the minimum bid listed at the top of the bid sheet.

Be sure to clearly write your FULL name, e-mail, and bid amount on the sheet (e-mail is only needed for your first bid on each item)
Bids must be in $1 increments unless otherwise listed on the bid sheet
You may place new bids on an item at anytime.

Final bids will be called at 8:00 PM, winners will be announced, and payments collected.

For anyone making a 50% donation to GASP, you will be paid for your item(s) at the end of the Silent Auction season in October
